Rep Power: 6 | Re: Doubts in how to execute test cases Hi, We follow the following process before and after executing the test cases: --> After writing the Test Case document, we first send it to Project Manager, after his approval it goes to the developer team. --> while developing the project, developers will even consider this test case document. -- Due to this we they will get some confidence on their work. ---> When the build/version is released to QA. The following will be the process done: ---<> First check whether build is eligible for testing or not (Sanity testing.. according to standards). ----<> Go through the test case document and test first, the main functionality(priority) Test cases( This helps the developer to fix early for next stage). ---<> Next test the remaining test cases and send the Test completion report/ Testing status report as per the scheduled done. The following is the Test case and Bug tracking report formats in our org. Test Case: Test case id: Test case Description: Pre-condition: Sno: Description: Expected Result: Actual Result: Status: Remarks: Post-description. Bug Tracking:: BUg id: Test case id: Bug catagory: Bug Type: Description: Priority: Severity: Reported By: Note::If we are logging in spreed sheet format, then we have to use Two sheets or doc.'s separately for clear understanding of both QA and Development teams. To free from confusion, give Bug id in Remarks of Test case format and Use Test case id in Bug Tracking. Thanks... This is what I know...Any updations or modifications Please come forward and place your suggestions. Shireendra |

Rep Power: 6 | Re: Doubts in how to execute test cases Hi, pre-condition:: It gives us, what to do, to get into that test case. In other words, It's an approach to that test case. For example:: To get yahoo login id/pwd, the pre-condition will be "type the url in the browser window and press enter". Post-condition: if test case Passed. where will be our position on application. For example::Correct user id/pwd Test case, Post-condition will be "It shows us the Inbox of the user". |
